Grace mask is a series of devotionals on the common ways religious people think they are following Grace because the word has been so abused especially over the last 20 years.
Do you know God’s plan perfectly?
How about God’s timing?
Can you relax in the who and what and let Him have the how, why and when?
“When they came to Marah, they could not drink its water because it was bitter. So the people grumbled against Moses, saying, “What are we to drink?” Then Moses cried out to the LORD, and the LORD showed him a piece of wood. He threw it into the water, and the water became fit to drink.” – Exodus 15:23-25
One way you can always tell those that are not under Grace but still under law is their impatience! Do I get impatient? Yes and its usually traced back to a law root in me.
A law root is one of those “shoulds” that people have in their life that typically cause frustration and anger with self, others and God. I find it rather funny that right after the root is exposed usually God solves the problem a large percentage of the time.
Lesson here – as you learn to Trust God and not self you will be more able to rest in the moment where ever and whatever that looks like!
Trust in God doesn’t come from a law it comes from resting and relying on Him! The reason the children of Israel spent so much time in the desert was they didn’t rely on Him to get them into The Promised Land – they relied on themselves, their own strength and what they could see!
Legalists still do it today! I just had a believer tell me “we have to conform to the law and God does that once we accept Him – He gives us power to conform.” Funny thing she got upset when I asked her to answer 7 questions based on scripture and show me where the Bible says God gives us power to conform to the law!
The Transforming work that God does on a believer after they have received Christ is Not making them more capable to obey the law – we are no longer under the law! The Transformation is making your mind more like that of the world’s Greatest Lover – Jesus Christ! This transforming is about God’s work to create a greater acceptance of self and others, to become more Loving, Compassionate and in short therefore more like Christ!
But make No mistake this is Not making you more holy! At the nanosecond of salvation and acceptance of Christ you are as Holy as you will ever be! This transformation is the journey by Grace through the path of Faith which is toward the destination of The Thrown of All Love and Mercy!
