Why are there obstacles to Love?
What was the first Christmas obstacle?
How is the obstacle the best part of Christmas?
Please read Luke 2:1-3
Vs. 1 “In those days Caesar Augustus issued a decree that a census should be taken of the entire Roman world. (This was the first census that took place while Quirinius was governor of Syria.) And everyone went to their own town to register.”
It would be very easy to say something really canned like “that which does not kill us only makes us stronger” but I seriously doubt that Joseph would have been thinking this with all the other stress on him. Pretty sure Mary wasn’t really looking forward to an ass ride through the desert while she was pregnant either.
Stress and difficulty is a part of life but even more a part of the season of Christmas more than any other time of the year- why is that?
Isn’t this the time of year we celebrate Christ birth and the liberation of mankind?
Yes but we forget so easily that Jesus came not to clear the obstacles away but to give us the road map around them instead. The road map is cast your cares on Him- He has this under control. The key is every time the obstacle comes back use that as a moment to remember “He is in control.” (Say it like a prayer every time you feel the stress begin to come back.)
Just like He didn’t do away with the law He didn’t do away with the stress but again He showed us the path- Him! By believing in Him I am no longer under the law and choosing to be under the law would be like choosing to be under the stress.
You can try but you will only die tired!
Find a time where you can just stop and breathe a bit and try to just Be, Here, Now while you repeat the following as a meditative prayer:
Breathe in and say:
“Cast all my cares”
Breathe out and say:
Practice this until you realize that “no room at the Inn” was a victory in that it symbolized most people’s abandonment to Love. Practice this meditation until you understand that every difficulty He faced is just another facet to the Love from Above in the diamond that is you!
Don’t Worry- Be Grace-Full!!
