How can anyone enter life?

How can anyone enter Heaven?

Just then a man came up to Jesus and asked, “Teacher, what good thing must I do to get eternal life?” “Why do you ask me about what is good?” Jesus replied. “There is only One who is good. If you want to enter life, keep the commandments.” “Which ones?” he inquired. Jesus replied, “You shall not murder, you shall not commit adultery, you shall not steal, you shall not give false testimony, honor your father and mother,’ and ‘love your neighbor as yourself.’” “All these I have kept,” the young man said. “What do I still lack?” Jesus answered, “If you want to be perfect, go, sell your possessions and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow me.” Vs. 26 “Jesus looked at them and said, “With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.” – Matthew 19: 16-21, 26

If you are reading this on your own computer you are doomed! You should have sold it given the money to the poor and found a monastic life somewhere. Isn’t that what it says?

Do you understand this yet?

You can’t and never could be “good enough” nor can I nor can anyone- only Jesus- that is the gift to end all gifts.

Its funny that some people want to take this passage and use it as a bludgeon for legalism but they don’t want to sell all they have – why is that?

Because legalist seek a comfort level in their sacrifice that they can accept. That is why women wearing pants, playing cards, rock music and a myriad of other things are now acceptable in churches – here is the kicker they were never evil to God!

There is only one way to enter heaven and only one ticket to the streets of gold and it has nothing to do with “what good thing must I do” – until you get that you will never get Grace – yes it really is that simple – His yoke is easy and His burden is light.

Want to enter Life? Keep the commandments – All of them to a T- good luck OR believe in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and you shall be saved!

Don’t Worry- Be Grace-Full!!

If our fellowship with Christ depends on our works - our fellowship will never be anything more than ritual!
