How will your comfort zone kill you?
“So, because you are lukewarm—neither hot nor cold—I am about to spit you out of my mouth. You say, ‘I am rich; I have acquired wealth and do not need a thing.’ But you do not realize that you are wretched, pitiful, poor, blind and naked.” – Revelation 3:16-17
What makes God hurl? What makes God have projectile vomiting?
When His children wont depend on Him for everything! When His children get in some false security zone based on their “deeds” and instead of sitting in His all comforting lap and just letting Him rock them back and forth and hold them in His All might and All powerful arms – they depend on something that wont last to give temporary comfort which produces eternal pain in the end!
Does that mean you can lose your salvation? I don’t know but write that one down and be sure to ask God that one. Furthermore I don’t care I am focused on the Here and Now not on the there and then!
What this passage tells me is really rather simple – remember how Amazing the gift is that He gave us!
Let me explain something – there isn’t one single good thing about me! If I were a sum total of all the good in me there wouldn’t be enough for a leaky bucket full of camel turds! As long as I remember this fact – I see the Overwhelming Amazing gift that Is Jesus Christ the Son of the Living God and what He did in perspective to what it Is! – Life Itself!
The main message to this church wasn’t shape up or ship out – do more good works and increase the numbers sitting on your pews! The main message was know who your Daddy Is! Know who Abba Is and what He cares about!
He doesn’t care about your money, power, position, postulating or legalistic checklist!
He cares that we see His Gift for what it Is and Love like there is no tomorrow!
Amen!
Thank you sister for sharing!
This reminds me of another Scripture…love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your might. He took the time to count every hair on our heads. I have 4 children. I couldn’t begin to tell you how many hairs my children have. He doesn’t want just half hearted worship or relationship for that matter. He wants all or nothing. He loves us completely. He will spew us out of his mouth should wr give Him less of what he so rightly deserves.
And yet there is nothing we can give Him – except our broken selves!
Thank you for sharing sister! Praise God His Love goes beyond Loving our “doing” as that will never get anything done.
