What really matters to God?
What will last for all time?
“Sell your possessions and give to the poor. Provide purses for yourselves that will not wear out, a treasure in heaven that will never fail, where no thief comes near and no moth destroys. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.” – Luke 12:33-34
Do you want to know what “will not wear out” and do you want to find that “treasure in heaven that will never fail”?
Then Love, Love and Love more!
Keep in mind that this is only possible through Grace! I am not talking about the Love that seeks to get people to believe like you do, think like you do or get them to walk down the aisle of your church and join.
I am talking about the kind of Love that gives to the poorest people, the ones who you have no chance of getting anything from. I am talking about the kind of Love that gives and gives but never gets tired because it’s not from your effort, it’s from above!
No thief can take the riches of the Love you share and no moth can ever destroy the influence of Love that you give. It might not look like it at the time but seeds of Love once cast out will span the rest of eternity.
One example of this is and always will be the cross of Christ! He didn’t have to go up there, He didn’t have to die for you and me but He did- and the influence of that death is being felt as you read this- isn’t it?
Your heart will be where your treasure is- set your heart on Loving others and your treasure will always be secure as the ripples of the Love you share here will last for an eternity!
Find a time and a place where you can just relax and breathe hopefully without interruptions. Take a couple of deep breaths and with each exhale just let go of the stress and relax a little bit more. Once you feel a bit more relaxed close your eyes and make this a meditative prayer.
Breathe in and say:
Breathe out and say:
“Is Loving others”
Practice this way for a few minutes every morning to set your mind toward His heavenly treasure!
