The reason the French were occupied during WW2 was God wanted to let people know to Not rest in what they could see. At the end of WW1 the French had built an impenetrable wall of gun emplacements called the Maginot Line meant to keep the Germans out. The trouble was the guns all faced Germany and God had allowed man to figure out how to jump out of a plane with a parachute, come up behind the gun and knock on the door!
“So he had his chariot made ready and took his army with him. He took six hundred of the best chariots, along with all the other chariots of Egypt, with officers over all of them. The LORD hardened the heart of Pharaoh king of Egypt, so that he pursued the Israelites, who were marching out boldly. The Egyptians—all Pharaoh’s horses and chariots, horsemen and troops—pursued the Israelites and overtook them as they camped by the sea near Pi Hahiroth, opposite Baal Zephon.” – Exodus 14:6-9
It’s always interesting to me as I look at a map of modern day Israel that they are right back where they were at the above moment in time – between a rock and a sea!
Until a person learns dependency on God’s provisions their situation never changes!
Here is the key – CHRIST IS YOUR PROVISION IN TOTAL!
When Christ said “it is finished” He meant it! Now rest in Him! Stop trying to “do” righteous and rest in the fact that you already are, everything is the way He wants it, He IS on the throne and you are in His Loving embrace as you read this – NOTHING could, can or ever will separate you from that embrace!
The enemies that surround you – Rest in Him!
The mistake you made – Rest in Him!
The injustice that happened to you – Rest in Him!
As one old member of “The Red Sea Walking Team” said to a young child of Israel after 40 years in the desert, “Rock and a hard place HA! Let me tell you my child about a rock and a sea!”
The journey of Grace Is learning this Rest, Learning this Peace and Growing In Faith – this journey Can Not be taken under the law!
ONLY CHRIST did it so REST in it!
