Is it a pebble or a Rock?

Where do you get rest?

What shakes you?

Please read Psalm 62:1-2

Vs. 1 “Truly my soul finds rest in God; my salvation comes from him. Truly he is my rock and my salvation; he is my fortress, I will never be shaken.”

If your soul finds rest in anything or anyone outside of God- Life will suck! Sooner or later that thing will come crashing down- Everything Changes except God!

If you think your works are a place to find rest- they will fail. If you find rest in a person- they will leave you. If you find rest in what you have it will all be destroyed.

The reason for this is really simple- God Loves you!

So what if you can’t find rest in God?

He is the “Rock” not “a pebble” but at times we think He is just a pebble- This is why we get to practice letting go many times in our life if we are truly blessed.

Consider spiritual growth like spiritual muscles- they need exercise! The more we recognize that everything changes and to accept what is right here and right now the more we will be on the Rock!

If you know that this moment came through Him for you right here and right now just as it is- Nothing can shake you! At this point you are firmly on The Rock!

If you are under law for righteousness being firmly on The Rock is impossible- Why?

You will never be able to keep, you will never measure up and thus you will always “feel” unstable in your walk.

Here is an exercise to help you get on The Rock. Find a time and a place where you probably won’t be disturbed. If you are God knew about it beforehand and it is all Good when it comes from Him. Start by taking several deep breaths and with every exhale just see Him taking your stress. Now just go back to normal breaths and feel your breath as best you can, just let your thoughts and feelings go unnoticed and relax with this breath it is a gift from God every time you breathe in and out. It’s one more chance to Love others! Now begin to do this

Breathe in and say:

He is my Fortress

Breathe out and say:

I rest in Him

Practice this way until you know that nothing else can or ever will be a safe harbor for your soul.

Don’t Worry- Be Grace-Full!!
