Disciples on death!
“The disciples went and woke him, saying, “Master, Master, we’re going to drown!” He got up and rebuked the wind and the raging waters; the storm subsided, and all was calm.” – Luke 8:24
Fear of death is natural. I haven’t died yet in a physical sense and as such I can only go on the times that I have seen death first hand, but even in the case of suicide it is without a doubt one of the most difficult transitions for a being.
At the same time as I realize that and perhaps because I realize that one of the greatest Grace-Growth moments for me has been the indwelling realization of four words: “God Is In Control” – in fact many times this has been a meditation for me!
I know this sounds basic but for the legalist this is an impossible realization in its completeness! What do I mean by that?
Under law the emphasis is on doing and acting a certain way and making sure others perceive you correctly so the group will accept you. But the law sets you up for failure – that’s why it was created and the job of satan is to make you feel condemnation – what better way than for someone that is in similar or same group think to call you out and tell you to “do a better job.”
Under Grace, in Love from Above I am observant of the weaker brothers, those under more laws and I do try to place myself under their law when I am around them. But I also know that neither I nor my brother or sister are under the law, as such, I accept everything that they do or that happens as a God given event and moment and I grow from it!
Do I do this perfectly? LOL – I am still breathing aren’t I – Perfect in God’s sight while growing in Grace!
In times of trouble go to the bathroom! Or just find a way to practice this quietly and know its truth – be it in a bunk in the darkness of a combat zone or in the middle of a crowded subway:
Breathe in and say:
“God Is”
Breathe out and say:
“In Control”
Practice this as needed or make it a daily practice for a week or a month and see how this melts the moments into gifts from God!
Thank you for encouraging words and a good teaching i truly love it God bless
Thank you for the encouragement! God has truly blessed me through you this day!
