Be Here Now with The God who Is Love!
“I am not saying this because I am in need, for I have learned to be content whatever the circumstances.” – Philippians 4:11
The best way for the devil to distract us from our primary mission and to create an image for others of a God who doesn’t care is for our emotions to get involved with who we think God is.
What if I could show you a simple “checklist” on how to Be Here Now and experience God?
To be content in every situation is to realize and grasp the reality of God in our life in the moment and to understand who He is and His posture towards us.
This being the case the next time you feel your emotions overtaking you or the next time you feel the wave of panic or sorrow coming up ask yourself these questions – make a checklist by copy and paste if you have to:
1) Do I believe in God?
2) Do I believe God Is Love?
3) Do I believe God radically Loves me with a Love that no human could ever fully understand or explain?
4) Do I believe that God is all powerful?
5) Do I believe that no matter what choices I make His provisions are there and I have been forgiven Not because anything I have done but because of what Christ did on the cross?
These questions will help you see the reality of your situation – whatever it is and the never ending hand and provisions freely given to you by The God who Is Love and Loves you more fully and completely than you or I could ever hope to understand!
I know I haven’t been very good about commenting recently – but I have read all your posts in this series, and want to thank you for them. I have chronic clinical depression… I was first diagnosed with it when I was 18 years old, but had suffered from it for several years before that diagnosis. It’s been getting a little better the stronger I build my relationship with God. But, my problem is that I’ll hit a downward spiral really fast and can’t see that love from God. Or, I don’t look for it… or think about it. He gets forgotten while I wallow in my depression. I really love this checklist of questions you’ve posted. I will be printing it and hanging it in various places as a reminder.
PRAISE God!
You will be in my prayers and my meditations daily! I was diagnosed about 20+ years ago myself and took Zoloft for years but I still claim that His Grace is what brought me through it and is keeping me on the road of Life!
I will remember you and all of us who are blessed to be in His broken family! Imagine a life where you were never broken – could you ever see His deliverance! God is so very Good!
I love you and I am here if you ever need to talk!

I was on Prozac, but only for a short time. True, it helped so I wasn’t depressed… but I also wasn’t happy, or curious, or excited, or sad, or well, anything. I couldn’t stand not feeling anything – especially considering I’m a writer… writers feed off their emotions, and I suddenly had none.
I truly couldn’t imagine a life without being broken. What a dull life it would be… and I really wouldn’t have had any need to gain a stronger relationship with God.
Thank you for the offer to be here… the same goes for you. 🙂
Thank you for sharing and even more thank you for the offer – Its always good to know a brother or sister that you can contact!
Maybe we should form a group or something?
I can identify with what you say about the not being happy – This may sound strong but the more I dont “know” about Jesus the better I am. Hope that makes sense.
I am printing this out! This is excellent wisdom. We do need reminders of this when we’re facing uncertainty. I know I do.
Thank you sister! I so appreciate you Being here and I pray that this will open up some people to God Is Love! God is Not a sadist – If any of His children face pain it is so we will be closer to His bossum!
