Thoughts for Healing!
“We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ.” – 2 Corinthians 10:5
In the past two studies we looked at what a blessing depression is – as that creates the need for Christ. We also looked at the need to realize God’s Gift – Grace – no longer being under the law.
This Bible study looks at the thoughts and a method that has been around a long, long time for taking those thoughts captive!
First what is the “knowledge of God?” It’s Not the knowledge of your church or religion – it’s the knowledge of God! I can tell you in a nutshell what that has meant for me in my healing:
1) God Is Love! – Love is an inseparable part of God’s very nature! It is impossible for Him to Be God and not Be Love!
2) God through Christ has released us from the law! – See part 2 of this series and answer the 7 simple questions at begraceful.com “Let The Journey Begin!”
3) There is NO condemnation for those in Christ Jesus! – Recognize that Any thought of condemnation which would cause your depression to spark is Not from God!
4) God Radically Loves me and you! – He is in a constant motion to be in a closer Love based relationship with us!
For me the realizations above were the start of the journey that I write about, speak about and share.
Does that mean my mind always functions the way these truths would like- LOL! Nope! So there is an ancient practice that most churches and when I was growing up almost all churches Ran from called meditation.
I am going to show you how it works for me:
Find a time and a place where you probably wont be disturbed. If you are remember every moment was allowed by God so it happened for a reason and just come back to being undisturbed as soon as you can. Place a chair against an inside wall of your house and sit with an erect posture, feet flat on the floor and your hands relaxed and on your thighs facing palms up or down. Take a couple of deep breathes and as best you can relax and Be Here Now. Gently close your eyes and as you get back to normal breathing say this silently or out loud:
Breathe in and say:
“Abba”
Breathe out and say:
“I belong to you”
Breathe in and say:
“God Is”
Breathe out and say:
“Love”
Practice this for 10 or 20 minutes a day while seeing in your mind you in the lap of God and Him just enjoying Loving you!

This seems very interesting I’ll check it out.
Thank you very much for reading and checking it out I pray that it blesses you!
I enjoyed reading your post. I read the book, “Be Here Now” years ago and loved it. I believe in your attitude towards meditation as a way of living. I feel closer to God because living in the moment brings me into the present and He’s right there with me. Thanks for the mantra, I will use it.

Sister – I so very much appreciate you sharing!
I was brought up with the idea that mediation was somehow eveil but it has so brought me closer to God! Praise God sister for you and your testimony!
My hope is to write more on meditation and the role that it can play to bringing us into His Love and prescence!
Thank you sister!
Bro. Bob,, I enjoyed the post message on this topic-depression. We as Christians are oppressed by the enemy at times but we should never be depressed because we have hope in Christ Jesus. 1 Corinthians 15:19, If in this life only we have hope in Christ, we are of all men most miserable. We have to meditate on God’s Word, and apply it to our daily life’s situation to gain victory over the thoughts that does not line up with what God said. Thank you for sharing this post.
Great points sister!
Thank you for sharing! Meditation has so been a source of strength and inspiration to me- I hope to do a few videos where I practice meditation and share those as a way to connect through online!
I was also brought up to avoid meditation as evil, but I have found it useful. Thanks for this helpful post.
Thank you for sharing – Its amazing when we begin to experience the wideness, depth and reach of His Love and mercy just how many things suddenly seem clean that were unclean.
