People struggle to make sense of the “why” and that is a natural thing to do. But one great thing I have learned from this crazy Grace journey is that if I rest in the “Who”, the “why” is pretty much taken care of which frees up my spirit to grow in love like Love from Above. Do I do it perfectly? Well that’s the point of the journey, right?
The greater we see Him as Love and His Love for us as eternal, unconditional and Divine, the greater our Rest Here and Now will be.
“When they had all had enough to eat, he said to his disciples, “Gather the pieces that are left over. Let nothing be wasted.” So they gathered them and filled twelve baskets with the pieces of the five barley loaves left over by those who had eaten.” – John 6:12-13
I find it interesting that out of so little originally provided they had so much left over. Not because Christ didn’t do great miracles but because of the life lessons here:
1)The starting point of God is often the impossibility of man so that we can all learn to rest in His power and ability and not our own. Just like the starting point of finding His Love is our failure to follow the law, so also our starting point of previous pain, hurt, shame and condemnation is not where we stay If we grow in Grace instead of law.
2)The reason for the “why” of the pain is not just for our benefit but also for the community. The community of all mankind is a giant village where each person has a job or a role and that is created by the struggles they have been through and the acceptance or rejection of Grace for those struggles. There were 12 tribes of Israel and 12 baskets left over – never think that God waste any of our pain. He gently and Lovingly has created the journey to create us as the workman the community needs to shine His Love light.
One word of caution when it comes to struggle and community is this –
Most Christians struggle with the law which they are no longer under and every church I have ever been in promotes the law as opposed to Grace. The more law you are under the more you will struggle and the simple reason for that is All righteousness comes from Faith in Christ which is why, “Christ is the end of the law for All who believe.”
