What are you rich in?
“The disciples were amazed at his words. But Jesus said again, “Children, how hard it is to enter the kingdom of God! It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for someone who is rich to enter the kingdom of God.” – Mark 10:24-25
What if riches were not just material goods or money? – What if riches are what we find comfort in outside of Him?
I pity the person who never gets broken from what they find comfort in. I feel sorry for the person who can sit in a church pew Sunday after Sunday and because they didn’t murder anyone and they warmed the wood beneath their backside feel they have checked a box. – If this is God no wonder so few want anything to do with Him.
There are many comforts and multiple riches that many and in fact most have:
1) Riches of effort – legalism comfort – what you did or didn’t do that defines you as a good person or someone that must pray very hard for forgiveness.
2) Riches of knowledge – self wisdom comfort – what you know is all you need and you have all the answers so why do you need God.
3) Riches of self – position comfort – who you are and how people look up to you because of who you are or who you aren’t (some people find great comfort in acting weak – it’s still position comfort).
4) Riches of pain – suffering comfort – those who are in pain now and garner sympathy because of their suffering.

Take some time each day as you start this journey to just breathe and Be Here Now!
Breathe in and say:
“Abba open my eyes ”
Breathe out and say:
“To You”
Practice this for a while and rest in the knowledge that He will!
