What are the “expectations that God has on His children and could it be that those expectations are different that what you think? How could this difference affect you and your relationship with Him over time? Is it possible that by misunderstanding His expectations on us with miss His blessings for our life?
Is our perception always right?
If our perception is a bit off could it be that our relationship to what we percieve could be messed up?
“I led them with cords of human kindness, with ties of love. To them I was like one who lifts a little child to the cheek, and I bent down to feed them.” – Hosea 11:4
Do you know how much He Loves you?
There was a time in my life when I believed I had to perform certain acts to please God. This was a time of seeing a god of lightning bolts. This was a time of well-intentioned people telling me “well god expects you to do certain things.” This was the time of my greatest depression and strongest urge to commit suicide!
Because the source of who I was listening to about who God really is was more screwed up than any possible “sinner” ever could have been.
But the point here is this- if our thought of God is one who has expectations on a creature He created with the knowledge that the only thing that would make them have Peace would be the death of His only Son – isn’t that a view of God as One who sets His creation up for failure?
If God knowing full well our failings still had “expectations” on us and still “expected” us to “do” certain things to be pleasing to Him – doesn’t that make Him a sadistic puppet master?
Can you see how that idea might affect any hope of relationship we might have with The God who is Love?
In the end it isn’t about the people or organizations that have caused abuse – it’s all about you the person and the concept that you have of who God is. The most important relationship you can have is with Pure, Perfect!
Don’t you think it’s time to take a look at how you see God and create that relationship?
God Is Love – God Loves You – and nothing else matters!
