What do you watch for?
Why are you in this situation?
“But as for me, I watch in hope for the LORD, I wait for God my Savior; my God will hear me.” – Micah 7:7
I have found that many times I am in a particular situation because I need to wait and watch!
If this sounds strange let me explain. You know all those times when you sit and scratch your head and say, “why do you have me here God?” When living “by Grace” many times the situation is just an exercise in watching and waiting.
Many of the prophets in the Old Testament and people in the New Testament went through these times by what is the point- why doesn’t God answer now and show His power?
For me I have found several reasons:
1) To let us rest and renew our strength – Finding rest in the midst of a storm means we are indeed resting in Him. Let go and let God!
2) To let others see the salvation of the Lord – It isn’t always about you but it is always about Love!
3) To give us one more point of Thankfulness – Stand and see the deliverance that God has for those that Love Him! As you say Thank You God all those around will be able to share in seeing His power.
The Lord will hear you and He will respond so rest in what is here and now- these are the moments where peace that passes all understanding is built.
When you have moments where you feel like God is not there and you can’t figure out why He doesn’t seem to be answering try this. Find a time and a place where you probably won’t be disturbed and take several deep breaths, with every exhale just get a mental picture of God taking your stress away. During this time find any stress spots in your body like your jaw or between your shoulder blades and as best you can for right now give that to Him as well.
Once you feel a bit more relaxed and settled just breathe normally and:
Breathe in and say:
“I will wait”
Breathe out and say:
“On the Lord”
Practice this until you realize that He is our mighty fortress and as such we are safein His Love and protection.
