Who is awake spiritually?
What does it mean to “make Love your goal”?
“Then the righteous will answer him, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink? When did we see you a stranger and invite you in, or needing clothes and clothe you? When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you?’ “The King will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’” -Matthew 25:37-40
It was a great surprise to the righteous man that he was declared righteous for a very simple reason. He was focused on Loving others as Christ loved them instead of having his goal to look right himself.
I always enjoy the part here of how the spiritually awake are what the world would call asleep. They weren’t the ones everyone thought were righteous and as a result they were totally caught off guard here by Jesus.
What does that look like?
What did Jesus mean when He said He must be about His Fathers business?
Why were people so attracted to His message?
All I know for sure are three simple words, God Loves You!
But in that we get the answer to all three questions. His Fathers business is about Love, people risked life and limb to touch the edge of Jesus’s robe because of His Love for them and what that looks like is again Love.
Don’t worry about the “doing” but instead “Be” about the Loving!
Find a time and a place where you probably won’t be disturbed and you can just take some time to breathe. Take a couple of deep breathes and with each exhale just relax a bit more into Being, Here, Now. Once you feel a bit more relaxed just breathe normally and:
Breathe in and say:
“Lord of Love”
Breathe out and say:
“Love through me”
Practice this way for several days in the morning and at night for 15 or 20 minutes and throughout the day just remember to stop and focus on Loving.
