What kind of debt are you in?

Were we ever told that debt was good?

Is there a debt that God wants you to stay in?

Jesus paid a debt that I could never pay- never! Not now, not then and not ever! The debt was simple and yet it had to do with the very core of my being not being able to measure up and satisfy the righteous requirements of the law.

Let no debt remain outstanding, except the continuing debt to Love one another, for whoever Loves others has fulfilled the law. The commandments, “You shall not commit adultery”, “You shall not murder”, “You shall not steal,” “You shall not covet,” and whatever other command there may be, are summed up in this one command: “Love your neighbor as yourself.” Love does no harm to its neighbor therefore Love is the fulfillment of the law.” – Romans 13:8-10

There is no more debt except that of continuing to “LOVE ONE ANOTHER!!

Again the simple message of the new covenant and the New Testament is made very plain by one all encompassing four letter word. Again we are called to focus on one four letter word that is the very thing that God is.

Here is an interesting activity you might enjoy. Take a look at how the word “Love” was used in the Old Testament. Write down some of the ways it was used and then look at how it was used in the New Testament and see if it is used differently.

The other kind of debt is the one based on performance and doing the law and it is never ending. If you are under this kind of debt then Christ is of no value to you at all. You face guilt, shame, doubt, depression and a constant need to prove yourself. The problem is you will never be able to prove anything to God.

His yoke is easy and His burden is light!

Dont worry- Be Grace-Full!

The debt of law was paid in full on the cross He bore! Focus on Love once in Christ!
