Are you too full?
Is there a point where the work of Love that God wants to do in you can’t happen?
Is it possible that our desire or ego is the very thing that hampers peace and happiness?
“One who is full loathes honey from the comb, but to the hungry even what is bitter taste sweet.” – Proverbs 27:7
If there was ever a verse about growth that would be great to mount on your wall perhaps this would be it! Have you ever heard of someone being “full of them-selves?”
What does that mean to be “full” of one-self?
One truism I have found in my life again and again is this “As soon as I have it, its gone or changed.” As soon as I think I have God figured out or as soon as I have an answer other than “GOD IS LOVE“ I usually find myself scratching my head.
Why?
I believe its because God wants us hungry so that we keep seeking Him and spending time with Him. If growth ever stops then why is He keeping me here?
This to me is one of the most beautiful aspects of Grace. Laws are set in stone but once written on your heart they are alive and life means change. Do stones grow? I mean I have seen some break but I have never seen one grow.
What are some possible things I could be full of? Ego, desire, anger, bitterness, envy, hate, fear, shame, guilt- just to name a few.
Do you see why grace is so important?
If God is a God of Love could it be that He wants something better for us?
YES perhaps Love, peace, faith, hope, joy- just to name a few.
“Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness for they shall be filled.”
Righteousness is not in the stone but instead its in the heart that is hungry to see that everything in life is a lesson from Above- Yes even the bitter moments can bring us to God in ways we never could have imagined.
My prayer for All of us is that we get hungry for LOVE!!
