Why is Grace not a mainstreamed thought?

Please read Romans 11:5-6

Vs. 5 “So too, at the present time there is a remnant chosen by grace. And if by grace, then it cannot be based on works; if it were, grace would no longer be grace.”

Grace ceases to be Grace when works and effort enter into the mix!

Why?

Because God did it I didn’t and I never could and I never will be able to do it!

Go all the way back to Adam and Eve and one thing that is evident is this- when we try to do it we fall. Try to get closer by eating of the fruit of the tree of good and evil and what happens? Try to get closer by building a tower-Babel and the Lord will confuse you.

And if by Grace then it cannot be based on works

Just think how absolutely amazing God is that He gives us this Free Gift of such magnitude that it revolutionizes how we can Be in His presence right Now and right Here!

On the other hand why isn’t this great gift mainstreamed? Simple because the man can’t fathom that kind of gift- it’s beyond any idea or thought we have ever had about what Love is and how Gracious a being, especially a deity can be.

I have found in my life that the devils two greatest lies are these:

1)    No way could God ever Love me- work harder and maybe He will!

2)   I have to do more to be better- try to do better- your effort makes you saintlier!

The answer to both of these can be summed up in one word- Jesus!

His most amazing Grace-Full act of unearned and unmerited Love answers both of these lies as well as any other lies that get thrown at you.

As you go through the day today- try this. At several times during the day just stop and take a few deep breaths to relax. Once you feel a bit more relaxed and you are breathing normally again:

Breathe in and say:

Not by works

Breathe out and say:

Only by His Grace

Practice like this till you begin to see what an Amazing Love He has for you!!

Don’t Worry- Be Grace-Full!!
