There is a god of MORE that has a singular purpose of making your life a living Hell. The idea of this mini-god is to make you think you are not enough, the things you do define you, make you The BIG GOD of Love beyond human understanding and make you think that His Son didn’t finish the job. For the next several devotionals I would like to examine the god of MORE so that we might better see BIG GOD!

Now the serpent was more crafty than any of the wild animals the Lord God had made. He said to the woman, “Did God really say, ‘You must not eat from any tree in the garden’?” – Genesis 3:1

The god of MORE or the devil would like us to question anything and everything about what The God Who Is Love tells us. This is one reason why we must have a Grace based relationship. Religion provides a false comfort zone of personal goodness which will lead us away from complete Faith in Jesus and what He “Finished” on the cross.

Here is how the goM sounds when it comes to doubting Grace:

“did God really finish All that needs to be done on the cross”

“you should have done better, you are supposed to be an example”

“why did you say that” “why did you do that”

“you are better than those law breakers” “people who don’t believe like you are so deceived”

“you can’t be like who you are a be a Christian” “you are not enough”

As we will see in later devotionals these aren’t the only lies the goM uses but here is what I try to incorporate into my thoughts as soon as these words start rolling into my head. Find a quit place even if it means a bathroom stall at work, close your eyes and:

Breathe in and say:

His Grace is

Breathe out and say:

Sufficient for me

This allows you to focus on His Victory that Is possible Only because of what Jesus “Finished” on the cross. Now Rest in this, repeat it until you get a smile on your face because that is the smile of VICTORY over goM.
